Our very own Beauty Makeover columnist Deb Lippmann (see her column in our current issue, on newsstands now—and every month in Shape) had a singing debut at a very intimate, very well-known jazz club last night (feinsteinsattheregency.com/performance.php?id=275). In one word: wow! Just seeing her up on stage, looking stunning and having the confidence to sing in front of a crowd of hundreds got me teary-eyed. She called out a thank-you to Shape for helping her on her weight-loss journey and helping her build the confidence to be the person she is now. Her songs were amazing—and her story really hit home the fact that you can be (and do) anything you want. You just have to set your mind to it. She inspired me so much that I’ll be writing my editor’s letter for January about it.
